Villanova DMR Men React to Making Indoor Nationals

Here's the post-race reactions from last night's DMR squad after they won their heat and qualified for NCAA Indoor Nationals with a 9:30.47 (#9 in the NCAA this season).  All the guys think that they can go faster and that they should be in the mix in the late stages of the national championship race in Fayetteville.  Jordy Williamsz led off with a 2:52 split in the 1200, followed by Sam Ellison's 47 flat in the 400. Chris FitzSimons admitted that went out too fast on the 800 leg ("I got way too excited"), but split a solid 1:49 to give the baton to Sam McEntee with a big lead.  McEntee, who's been running 3000s and 5000s this indoor season, anchored the 1600 leg in about 4:02 ("the slowest anchor I've done") and viewed his run as a shake-out effort over that distance.  McEntee is not likely to get the baton in the lead at Nationals, something that doesn't bother him at all: "I'm not much of a front-runner."  He does have an excellent kick and should keep Villanova in play in the final stages in Fayetteville.
