Ali Smith Breaks Own Meet & Stadium Record at Colonial Relays Steeple

Ali Smith's 10:24.52 in the 3000 steeplechase set a new meet and facility record tonight at William & Mary's Colonial Relays. It also established a new PR by almost two seconds in a race she won by 8 seconds. Also in steeple, Sarah Morrison was 3rd in 10:47.53

In other highlights, Amanda Marino ran 16:22.13 in the 5000 to finish 2nd overall. Summer Cook, making the transition from Villanova's swim team, ran 16:46.42 to finish 8th (Cook was an all conference cross country harrier in 2006 while in high school in Colorado, but decided at the time to concentrate on swimming). Shericka Ward won the 200 meters in 24.30, and Kristen Mahon won the 400 hurdles in 1:00.99, breaking 1:01.00 for the 5th time in her career.

Emily Lipari's first collegiate outdoor 1500 netted a nice 4:26.15, good enough for 4th out of 105 competitors. Bogdana Mimic was 8th in the 1500, in 4:27.61.
